Lastly, we are going to announce the last Drink N Draw of the year on December 8th at 7pm with a model, who couldn’t make it last August, named Abel Rey! Abel Rey has said that Anyone Comics is one of his favorite places to model for because of how much positivity and support there is, and I echo that sentiment!
This may be the worst year in comics with the deaths of Neal Adams, George Perez, Carlos Pacheco, Kim Jung Gi, Kevin O’Niell, comic store owner Lashawn Colvin, our friend John Jennison, publisher and customer Drew Ford (please support his widow if you can here).
Despite all the depressing news and the darkness, our own close call, I am thankful for the community we have here. I am thankful for the ability to be around the things I love and to give people the opportunity to discover new ideas, or new additions to old myths in comic book form.
I am grateful for the events we get to host, for the opportunity to meet likeminded individuals that can continue their friendship or relationship outside of the store. No matter how awful things can get, the interactions in the store, and the changes people experience always give me hope.
Anyone Comics has been called a “safe space” by people, but it’s only that thanks to customers like you! Thank you all for making this store possible!
And as always if you need anything email us at info@anyonecomics.com or call us at (347)350-8422. Or pop in! And pop-in to Everyone Comics in Long Island City! More toys, more back issues and more space (if you don’t count the basement)!
