FCBD 2021

FCBD in Brooklyn and in Queens!

This Saturday marks the return of Free Comic Book Day on the first Saturday of May (May 7). Now that we have two locations we want to offer two unique experiences for people who are doing a comic shop crawl and visiting multiple locations!

Over at Anyone, we are doing the Indie Arts festival!

We are keeping the number small, but we are bringing in a few local artists to hawk their wares including old favorites, like Greg Anderson ElyseeChuck Kaslow and Mindy Indy.

Joining them are the master of horror A.T. Pratt and cartoonist, Sami Kerwin and others

Jamal Igle, the cover artist for the next Access Guide to the Black Comic Book Community 2021-2022, is our special guest, with friend to the store, Kwanza Osajyefo, author of Black dropping by for a bit!

Depending on the weather, we will have the event outdoors or in our basement.

Incidentally, for those of you who play Magic the Gathering, we generally host Commander on Saturdays, so if you are swinging by for the books bring a deck!

Over in Queens at Everyone Comics and Books, we are hosting an event in addition to FCBD called “Everyone’s Got Ideas.” Tell us your comic idea and any of the guest artists who like it, will use their unique styles to draw their interpretation of it. Guest artists include our old friend Dan StebbinsTony WolfThomas Gryphon and me, Dimitrios!

The exterior windows to Everyone Comics feature characters from Dar Horse's Black Hammer!

The Free Comic Book Day book this year will include Avengers vs X-men vs Eternals, Amazing Spider-Man, Marvel Voices, The Incal, Clementine based on the Walking Dead, Bone Orchard etc..Let us know if there is anything you want by emailing us at info@anyonecomics.com!

For those of us, observing the Sabbath, don’t fret! We, as always, will have books put out on Sunday, the same day incidentally as our Kid’s Art classes!

Other events coming up include our once in a lifetime Drink N Draw Wrestling Edition! Where two wrestlers, Logan Black and Sazzy Boatwright will be posing using grapple techniques!

Everyone Comics is also slated to start recurring events too, including a comedy show called Comics around Comics on the 21st, a Queer Book Club (feature book for May is Alone in Space), and a Queen’s based Kid’s Art Class, both on the 28th.

Hope to see you all at one of the shops! Don’t hesitate to ever reach out to us!
